Peer Ministry is a regularly scheduled five-credit course in which senior and junior students are selected by an administrative panel.
Peer ministers are trained by counselors and administrators on various topics such as: Leadership, Respect, Apologies, Honesty, Communication, Gossip, Gender Differences, The Seven Types of Love, Perseverance, Professional Behavior, and Non-violent philosophies, etc.
Peer ministers are involved in the many facets of leading a Christian lifestyle and learn about the beliefs of the five major world religions.
They spearhead a mentoring program for the entire Hudson Catholic student body. They are available for peer counseling after school weekly.
They coordinate scripture readings, prayer petitions, meditations, and reflections for monthly school-wide masses and prayer services.
They have the opportunity to enroll in a program to become eucharistic ministers at Mass.
They actively co-sponsor the Box of Joy campaign, donating their time, talent, and treasure to needy children around the world.
They foster a spiritual atmosphere throughout the school daily, but especially on holy days and holidays.
They actively participate in volunteering for their home parishes and elementary schools within the community.
They energetically assist the impoverished at food pantries.
They enthusiastically visit and lift the spirits of the elderly.
They visit and encourage the sick in hospitals.
They show appreciation and gratitude to the faculty, administration, and staff.
