This is Ms. Howell’s second year at Hudson Catholic, where she teaches World History and Honors World History to freshmen, as well as two junior and senior electives: Psychology and American Crime and Cults. In addition to the classroom, she proudly serves as the Assistant Coach for the Girls Varsity Soccer Team. Ms. Howell grew up in Kearny—better known as “Soccer-town USA”—and her love for the game carried her through both high school and college, ultimately leading her to coach for over 10 years. She earned her degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education from Rosemont College of the Holy Child Jesus in Rosemont, Pennsylvania. Born and raised in Hudson County, Ms. Howell continues to live locally and enjoys being an active part of the community. When she is not at Hudson Catholic or on the soccer field, she enjoys spending time with family and friends or taking trips down the shore to LBI. She also takes pride in supporting her students by cheering them on in their extracurricular activities. Ms. Howell’s teaching philosophy is grounded in empathy and respect: “I believe the best teachers are those who truly listen to their students, understand their perspectives, and respect who they are becoming.”
