Frank McGady joined Hudson Catholic in 1994 and is starting his 32 nd year of teaching. He is a history teacher who has taught many different courses - though his specialty is Post-1945 U.S. and World History. He attended Fordham University, Northeastern University and Benard Baruch College where he received a Bachelors Degree in History. Mr. McGady loves photography and traveling. He has been to 49 of the 50 states (he has to get to Alaska). He visits as many historical places and museums as he can. He has also traveled around Europe too. A strong believer in conservationism, like his roll hero Theodore Roosevelt, he also enjoys visiting National Parks. He also enjoys reading books on history. Mr. McGady also coaches ice hockey and is a District Representative to USA Hockey (who govern all youth and junior hockey in the United States). He has also been on the executive board of the New Jersey Youth Hockey League since 1989 – serving as president for the last 20 years. He has been inducted into USA Hockey’s Atlantic District Hockey Hall of Fame and in 2022 he received the prestigious Dr. John J. McMullen Award from the New Jersey Devils for his lifetime contribution to youth hockey in New Jersey. He has coached travel hockey for 38 years and high school hockey for 33 years – 20 of those years with the Hawks. He was recently inducted into the Hudson Catholic Hall of Fame with Hudson Catholic’s hockey team that won the 2000 New Jersey NJSIAA State Championship. Mr. McGady moderates the Chess Club and the Photography Club. He also oversees the “Student of the Month” awards as well as helping to organize and run the end of the year De La Salle Senior Awards Banquet. Finally, Mr. McGady enjoys watching his favorite sports teams: the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Vikings.
