Mr. Philip Gazzale is a veteran of the Hudson Catholic faculty and staff, having been at Hudson Catholic for 53 years. A member of the Hudson Catholic Hall of Fame & the Hawk Football Wall of Fame, he is the recipient of the Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award-United State/Toronto Region, the Outstanding Educator Award-Archdiocese of Newark, & the Signum Fidei Award. Mr. Gazzale has served as Dean of Academics, Sports Moderator for decades, a Soccer Coach, Freshman Program Director, Moderator of the Biology Club & the Technology Club, Saturday Science Director, AP Coordinator, & Technology Director. He still encourages our student-athletes and remains one of the school's top fans. Currently teaching biology to freshmen, Mr. Gazzale is still inspiring kids to love science and be inquisitive.
He served as a Scoutmaster for 30 years, receiving the National President’s Award of Merit, the St. George Award, the Bronze Pelican Award, & he was a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow. He served his parish church in a number of ways, including as a lector at Mass for over 40 years.
Some advice for students: "I would advise them to be respectful & to work hard," he says.
