As a graduate of Hudson Catholic, I am proud to return to teach and coach at my alma mater, which instilled the values of its teachings and shaped my formative years. This prepared me for Jersey City State College (now NJCU) where I graduated with a BA in Art and ran WJCS, the university’s radio station.
Upon graduating, my 25 year career in the music industry began, which includes executive positions at RCA Records and Capitol Records, as Vice President, Promotion & Marketing. Working closely with countless artists, (among them Christina Aguilera and Coldplay, along with Paul McCartney, George Michael and Beyonce; independently), I applied an understanding of the medium, trends, audience and execution, to re-enter the world of entrepreneurship.
Forming MELONTE PARTNERS, with tech executive Melinda Martinez, we launched New Music Director (NMD) a digital series, becoming America's 1st syndicated video show, for radio. Airing in 70 markets, I interviewed multi-platinum and cornerstone artists which included Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Future, Buddy Guy, Cypress Hill, Three Days Grace and Jordin Sparks.
Segueing to television, I created, wrote and produced the series Celebrity Taste Makers, airing on CW Network flagship station, PIX 11 (WPIX.) Debuting in 2012, the show combined Celebrities & Food, ultimately earning 3 Emmy Awards in the Interview/Discussion category, airing for 7 years.
Returning to Hudson Catholic is a full circle opportunity that I commit to giving each student the same invaluable education and life lessons the school gave me. Outside of school, I’m filming a documentary about the legendary radio station, WNEW-FM, through my production company, Marion Section Multimedia.
